Andy Carter has called for residents to nominate worthy businesses, charities, organisations and individuals within the Warrington South constituency for the Government’s new Levelling Up Awards.
The new award scheme has been announced by the Government to celebrate those individuals and organisations who have been responsible for leading the charge to level up Warrington’s many communities. MPs throughout the UK need to nominate organisations from their constituencies for the 14 different award categories which are focused on equality of opportunity at key life stages.
The Awards have cross-party backing from Chancellor Rishi Sunak MP and Dame Margaret Hodge MP amongst others. The Levelling Up Goals Awards are Co-Chaired by former Minister for Public Health and loneliness champion Seema Kennedy OBE and Peter Gibson, MP for Darlington.
The categories are based around the ‘Levelling Up Goals’ launched earlier this year including Successful School Years, Health and Wellbeing and Closing the Digital Divide.
Commenting on the awards, Andy Carter said:
I’m currently in the process of bringing together a shortlist of my own to nominate some of our amazing community and business leaders who are leading the charge to level up our area.
The Government is determined to ensure that we level up communities right throughout Warrington as well as the North West to create better jobs and a higher standard of living for our area. These awards are a celebration of those individuals and organisations that have been leading the way to level up our communities right throughout the UK.
I’m really excited to be drawing up a shortlist from so many amazing organisations and individuals who are really making the Warrington South constituency an amazing place to live and work. So please do email in at [email protected] if you have any ideas.
The 2021 Levelling Up Awards are supported by Direct Line Group, Shoosmiths, Adecco Group, Persimmon, BP, True Potential, Pennon Group, Lendlease, Compass Group and UK Power Networks and Amazon.
