A huge pleasure to welcome Margaret Heath from Old Hall and her friend Diane Scott to Downing Street recently to say thank you for the work she does as a Veterans Champion in Warrington. Margaret served in the British Army and was posted all over the world as a member of Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps, caring for our troops.
Margaret now runs the Warrington Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club that meets each Friday at the Gateway for coffee, a quiz and lots of support. It’s open to all, Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Airforce, serving or veterans - and I can honestly say you’re guaranteed a very warm welcome having attended myself.
I wanted to say thanks for the work Margaret continues to do, so she came as my guest to a special reception at 10 Downing Street with Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer MP.
