A real pleasure to spend time meeting the team from Diabetes UK North, who have their regional office on Dallam Lane and to learn more about different types of diabetes, some of the symptoms and the impact it has on people with the condition and the NHS overall.
There are currently 6,820 people living with a diabetes condition in Warrington South and that number is forecast to increase disproportionately. Type 2 diabetes usually appears in adults however is frequently being diagnosed in younger children and is linked to lifestyle choices.
The 4 T symptoms of diabetes to watch out for are:
🚽Toilet – going for a wee more often, especially at night.
🥛Thirsty – being constantly thirsty and not being able to quench it.
💤Tired – being incredibly tired and having no energy.
🤷‍♂️Thinner – losing weight without trying to, or looking thinner than usual.
