Areal pleasure to join with members of Warrington’s Sikh community at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Latchford earlier to take part in the celebrations for Vaisakhi.
Vaisakhi is the most colourful event in the Sikh calendar. It occurs during mid-April every year and traditionally in Punjab, the festival corresponds with the first harvesting of the crops for the year.
There’s always such a warm welcome at the Gurdwara with lovely food being cooked and served for everyone who comes to the Temple. My first experience of eating jalebi today - if you like sweet and sticky desserts this is a proper treat!
