Plans to build on the former stadium site off Wilderspool Causeway first came before the Warrington planning committee back in 2019. Conservative councillors again raised serious concerns in March and specifically challenged the traffic situation on Fletcher Street but were told there wasn’t a problem.
Residents don’t agree - and future plans for the former bus depot will significantly impact this area further if we don’t sort the traffic at the Brian Bevan roundabout.
Local Campaigner Stephen Taylor is right, if the Council want to build new homes they should provide the necessary infrastructure to support them - I hope the Council will provide the reassurance for residents that has been requested.
