A real pleasure to call into the Salvation Army on Academy Way to meet Corps Officer Major Vaughan Bovan and to hear more about the work the Sally Army do all year round.
As well as providing the soundtrack to Christmas with the wonderful Army Band, the church is open for worship on Sunday and has a drop in cafe which is open most days and a charity shop on Academy Way where funds raised are used to support a variety of projects including a breakfast club and parents & toddlers group.
Separately, the Salvation Army also runs a shelter in the town centre and works alongside the Local authority and Your Housing in delivering accommodation for up to 54 adults experiencing homelessness in the Warrington area.
