Stopped off at the Phoenix Fire Boxing Club on Winwick Road at lunchtime today to meet some of the regulars at the Old Guys and Girls fitness group and to say a big thanks to Doug Ryan who runs the club.
The members asked me to present Doug with a special award to mark his outstanding efforts to grow the club, going beyond the cause to help everyone who attends.
Doug is a real community champion and listening to the tributes from Doug’s it’s clear to see what being part of this club means to so many members. It’s open Monday and Friday lunchtimes and is exclusively for the over 55s!
