Today Andy Carter MP for Warrington South met with The Brain Tumour Charity to discuss their call for a new National Brain Tumour Strategy. For years, people diagnosed with a brain tumour have been falling through the cracks. This can range from multiple misdiagnoses and trips to GPs, to undergoing harsh treatments that haven’t changed in decades, or not having access to the support they are entitled to from an allocated Clinical Nurse Specialist.
He commented on the issue:
Many people from across Warrington South have been in touch about the need to make progress in research to tackle brain tumours. It was great to catch up with volunteers working to raise awareness and to be able to give my commitment to their campaign which I help will help to find cures to the biggest cancer killer of children and young people under 40.
