Last week I paid a visit to Cherry Tree Primary School in Lymm to mark Cycle to School Week. It was brilliant to see just how many pupils have embraced alternative, healthy means of travelling to school like walking and cycling, and the enthusiasm they have for it.
Increased investment in programmes like cycling proficiency will keep out kids safe and continue bringing massive benefits for young people, improving their physical fitness and giving them better road skills. I’d encourage as many parents, teachers and children as possible to take advantage of these programmes in Warrington.
The journey to and from school is an essential part of the school day for every child, and it’s encouraging that Active Travel England is investing in active travel initiatives in Warrington South for children and young people that can improve their health and wellbeing.
