I've worked closely with our local NHS leaders to make sure people in Warrington South have access to some of the best modern healthcare facilities, and through my facilitation we've brought Health Ministers to Warrington to understand the challenges our local NHS faces in the aftermath of the pandemic.
Thanks to Government funding we've expanded capacity and sped up discharges at Warrington Hospital through a new £6million Same Day Emergency Care Unit, opened a £5million radiology unit, invested money into procuring new equipment and training more doctors and nurses, and now have a dedicated Health and Social Care Academy at Warrington and Vale Royal College.
This year we launched the Pharmacy First scheme to ease pressure on GP services while ensuring patients receive quick and accessible care. I've also used my position as an MP to raise the importance of building additional healthcare infrastructure alongside new developments like Appleton Cross, so that local residents have guaranteed access to a GP when they need it.
