Protecting jobs, supporting local businesses and investing in the right skills for future generations.

Having worked in business prior to becoming an MP, I know how important small and medium-sized enterprises are to our local economy. Since being elected in 2019 I've visited hundreds of local businesses in Warrington to see the fantastic ways they're bringing jobs and growth to the area.

As Warrington South's MP I've focused on making sure we're investing in high growth sectors like nuclear energy, supporting around 10,000 local jobs both directly and through the supply chains, as well as ambitious projects like HyNet to decarbonise the North West and lead the way for a new hydrogen economy.

My annual jobs and apprenticeships fairs have helped hundreds of young people to find employment opportunities with local businesses. Apprenticeships are a fantastic route into the world of work, with the ability to learn while you earn. Since 2010 we've seen around 5.7million new apprenticeship starts, of which over 13,000 are in Warrington South alone, and we have a plan to expand those even further.
