Andy Carter MP was really pleased to welcome Tony and Kate Little to 10 Downing Street yesterday to meet the Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport and to thank them for their brilliant contribution to community sport in Warrington South.
Tony is Vice Chair at Appleton Junior Football Club and having started coaching his son in the Academy, he has continued to do so now for 8 years and counting. In 2015 after his daughter showed an interest in playing football he became involved in trying to build up the Girls section in South Warrington. Tony is also now an active member of the Cheshire Girls League committee.
Kate is a qualified coach and Head of the Girls section which is now a quarter of the overall Club and it was great to hear about Kate’s aim, which is to offer football to girls of all ages in the local area.
Andy is hugely grateful to the many mums and dads across Warrington South that give up time during their weekends and in the evenings to run leagues and organise training sessions.
